Has hired a young waiter with Michelin experience, and recently surprised everyone.
Vejle: A few months after Treetop Restaurant at Munkebjerg Hotel changed its head chef, the gourmet restaurant now also has a new restaurant manager. The new restaurant manager is Andreas Kobs Laursen, who comes from a position as a waiter at the Michelin restaurant Lyst at Vejle Marina. He will assume his new role on April 1st.
Andreas Kobs Laursen is no stranger to the restaurant industry. Recently, he earned a bronze medal in the competition for “Waiter of the Year.”
The waiters were judged on personal appearance and a series of professional disciplines such as carving (cutting meat or poultry at the table), flambéing, wine explanation, spirit identification, and cheese service.
In addition to the medal, third place earned him a certificate and a check for 5,000 DKK. The current restaurant manager at Treetop, Karsten Hedegaard, will take on the position of wine manager for the Munkebjerg group on the same day.
